On 7 May 2025, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) led Ms. Jolene Tan, Director-General of the Technical Cooperation Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, on site visits related to “Smart City: Smart Mobility and Environment" in Bangkok.

The Singaporean delegates experienced an electric boat ride along the Phadung Krung Kasem Canal from Thewarat Pier to Hua Lamphong Station Pier and learned about plans to develop and modernize the area around the Canal for safe, daily living in the community. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is also intending to connect public transport via boat-road-rail, as well as to regulate waste and water management. The group also visited Benchakitti Park, a forest park which is also designed to be a retention area of flooded water, and were briefed by officers of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center about food waste management.
