On August 13, 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm, in collaboration with the International Women's Club of Stockholm (IWC), organized an “Exclusive Thai Cooking Class & Tasting Lunch” at the Ambassador's Residence. The event aimed to showcase the distinctive flavours and culinary artistry of Thai cuisine. Participants were members of the Diplomatic Corps and members of IWC. Proceeds from the event were donated to the Happy Child Foundation to support underprivileged children in Thailand.
Ambassador Arunrung introduced the Thai culinary demonstration project, which highlights Thai culture and its emphasis on the spirit of sharing and meaningful conversation around a shared dishes at a dining table. This activity also exemplifies the spirit of Thai-Swedish cooperation, translating this partnership into tangible support for underprivileged children in Thailand. The Embassy would like to express its sincere appreciation to CT Food for its generous support in providing ingredients for the culinary demonstration, as well as Thai cooking materials for all participants in the activity to try to cook Thai dishes at home.
During the event, participants were introduced to the preparation of two iconic Thai dishes: Pad Thai and Chor Muang (Thai Flower Dumplings). The chef demonstrated techniques for selecting and preparing ingredients, as well as sharing tips and secrets of authentic Thai cuisine. Participants were also given the opportunity to prepare both dishes themselves. In addition, a special musical performance by Viktor Norén, a renowned Swedish artist, added a memorable touch to the occasion.
The event demonstrated the meaningful spirit of Thai-Swedish cooperation and how such collaboration can be translated into tangible support for underprivileged children in Thailand.
The Royal Thai Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to CT Food for its generous support of the event, as well as to all participants whose contributions helped make this charitable initiative a resounding success.
