On 23-25 July 2025, Thai delegation led by Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs, along with representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Industry, Department of East Asian Affairs, and the Thailand International Cooperation Agency, visited Beijing to discuss strengthening cooperation with China in addressing transboundary haze pollution under the CLEAR Sky Strategy, a trilateral cooperation endeavour among Thailand, Lao PDR, and Myanmar.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, the ASEAN-China Centre, the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Beijing Ecology and Environment Monitoring Centre, and Tianning No.1 Culture and Technology Innovation Park. They exchanged views and experiences on how to further deepen cooperation in tackling air pollution and haze in the Mekong Subregion and ASEAN, including technical cooperation in agriculture, green innovation, MSMEs, capacity building, and environmental protection as well as explored cooperation in developing monitoring centres, fire risk map, and how to raise public awareness.

The visit was part of a follow up to the implementation of the trilateral Joint Plan of Action - CLEAR Sky Strategy launched on 29 October 2024.
