On 9 November 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the event “Igniting the Spirit Across the Seas: Celebrating 50 Years of ASEAN- New Zealand Dialogue Relations,” at One Bangkok, which was organised by the Embassy of New Zealand in Thailand.

The event was organised as part of activities to commemorate 50th anniversary of the ASEAN - New Zealand Dialogue Relations. On 28 October 2025, at the ASEAN - New Zealand Commemorative Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ASEAN and New Zealand agreed to establish a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) to advance their partnership to a higher level.

ASEAN and New Zealand established dialogue relations in 1975, making it the ASEAN's second oldest Dialogue Partner.
