Deputy Prime Minister Don Pramudwinai attended the Opening of the General Debate of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and had bilateral discussions with Australian, Bahrain, Vietnam and Hungarian Foreign Minister during his first day of UN High-Level Week visit in New York City.

On 21 September 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Don Pramudwinai attended the Opening of the General Debate of the 76th session of the UNGA, under the theme “Building resilience through hope - to recover from COVID-19, rebuild sustainably, respond to the needs of the planet, respect the rights of people, and revitalise the United Nations. DPM/FM Don witnessed several leaders' statements including the President of Brazil and the President of the United States. He also met with several foreign dignitaries at the UN headquarters. For Thailand, Prime Minister Prayut is scheduled to deliver his pre-record remark on Saturday 25 September 2021 at 01.15 hrs. (Thailand time).

DPM/FM Don had a pull aside meeting with Senator the Honourable Marise Payne, Australian FM. Both sides expressed their satisfaction on dynamic bilateral relations despite the COVID-19 pandemic as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues.

DPM/FM Don discussed with Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain. Both sides agreed to deepen bilateral ties by setting up a mechanism to follow up with corporations and projects. Thailand also expressed its readiness to support Bahrain as ACD Chair for the period 2021-2022.

He also met with H.E. Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam; they were pleased with bilateral trade which continues to thrive despite the COVID-19 situation. DPM/FM Don reaffirmed Thailand continues to work hand in hand with Vietnam in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Both sides looked forward to participating in the 4th Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC).

DPM/FM Don also discussed with H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. They discussed cooperation on procurement of vaccines, medical supplies, especially oxygen concentrators. Thailand also appreciated Hungary's call on the European Union to expedite negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement with Thailand. DPM/FM Don also encouraged Hungary to explore investment opportunities in Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
