On 27 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York City.
 
The two sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Thailand and Malaysia, particularly the promotion of economic cooperation to boost development in the border areas and the connectivity projects that would facilitate cross-border trade and travel. The Ministers also discussed Thailand-Cambodia border situation and the situation in Myanmar.
