On 23 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ms. Julie Bishop, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Myanmar, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Both sides exchanged views on the situation in Myanmar, including ways to promote peace and stability in Myanmar, as well as Thailand’s policy of calibrated re-engagement with Myanmar and the provision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.
