Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs chairs the first meeting of the Visa Policy Review Committee for 2026

On 30 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the first meeting of the Visa Policy Review Committee for 2026. Also in attendance was H.E. Mr. Pakorn Nilprapunt, Deputy Prime Minister, in his capacity as the Vice-Chair of the Committee, together with committee members representing relevant agencies responsible for security, the economy, social affairs, tourism, and labour, as well as the private sector.
The Committee reviewed Thailand’s visa policy to ensure that it remains responsive to evolving circumstances while maintaining an appropriate balance between facilitating international travel and promoting tourism, trade, and investment, on the one hand, and strengthening national security and preventing the misuse of visa exemption measures, on the other. They also received updates and recommendations from relevant agencies on the impacts of the current visa policy and related developments. The Deputy Prime Minister delegated the relevant agencies to develop policy proposal for the Cabinet’s consideration in formulating future directions for Thailand’s visa policy.
