The first Songkran ceremony in Warsaw was held on 17 April 2013 at the Residence of H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, the Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Poland. On this auspicious occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy was very honoured to receive Phrakru Prapasdhammavidech (Luang-Ta-Lom) from Buddhapadipa Buddhist Temple in London, United Kingdom, who performed as a master of the religious ceremony.
Thai community in Poland was very much delighted in participating in the Thai New Year occasion. Activities in the ceremony include Buddhist chanting, offering food to the monk, pouring water onto Buddha images and luncheon among the guests. The ceremony not only provides Thai people opportunity to make merit on Thai New Year occasion but also strengthens the unity among Thai people living in Poland leading to close and friendly relations between Thai community and the Embassy in the future.
