On Saturday 25 May 2013, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong organized “Thai Festival 2013” at Chater Garden, Central, Hong Kong during 10.30 hrs. – 20.00 hrs. under the theme of “Thai Temple Fair”. Mr. Chakri Srichawana, Thai Consul-General, presided over the official opening ceremony and gave a welcoming remarks, followed by congratulatory messages from Mr. Bernard Charnwut Chan, Member of Executive Council and Ms. Cynthia Liu, Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong SAR as Guests of Honour. ASEAN Consul-Generals posting in Hong Kong, representatives from government and business sectors, media, Team Thailand in Hong Kong and the general public were also attended the opening ceremony. Activities comprised of (1) Thai cultural performances from 4 regions of Thailand (2) vegetable and fruits craving demonstration (3) umbrella painting/northern styled flag cutting demonstration (4) Thai food/desserts/beverages stalls (5) games such as Can Knockdown, Ringtoss, and Eggs dipping (6) photo-shooting with Thai rickshaw (7) lucky draw to win the 2 grand prizes of two return air tickets each in economy class from Hong Kong to any destinations in Thailand, sponsored by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited. There were around 2,000 people participated throughout the day.
