On 5 December 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest hosted  the reception on the occasion of the 86th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thai National Day at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Bucharest, Romania.  Over 300 distinguished guests attended the reception including H.E. Mrs. Maria Grapini, Minister Delegate for SMEs, Business, Environment and Tourism  and H.E. Mr. Mihail Dobre, Secretary of State for Global Affairs,  Ambassadors from Asia, Europe and Africa and members of the diplomatic corps, dignitaries from Romanian government authorities and private sector along with Thai people and their families residing in Romania. In this regard, Miss Nabhasporn Bhuttarichval, Charge d’Affaires a.i. delivered a speech on H.M. King Bhumibol’s initiated projects and His Majesty’s contributions to the Thai society as well as invited the  distinguished guests to toast to H.M. King Bhumibol for his good health and happiness and to Romania and Thailand for the strong and codial ties, progress and prosperity.

     In this reception, two Thai students from  Moradokmai Home School, Thailand performed His Majesty’s musical composition, Near Dawn, with Ranad-ek and electric guitar along with other  traditional Thai songs. In addition, there were also Thai classical dances performed by Romanian students who are members of the National Children Palace. This is the first time that traditional Thai performances of this kind were presented at the reception  organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest on the occasion of His Majesty the King’s Birthday Anniversary.
