On 12 January 2014, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, together with Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT), Siam Cement Group (SCG), Thai Airways International and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai, hosted the "2nd Sawasdee Cup Golf Tournament 2014" at  Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai. The objective of the event was to strengthen the ties between the Thai and foreign communities in the United Arab Emirates, as well as creating a net working channel for the public and private sectors.

     The winners of the tournament were announced at the award presentation ceremony, followed by a luck draw, where the tournament's lucky winners walked away with prizes including 2 return tickets Dubai-Bangkok, sponsored by Thai Airways International, as well as dining vouchers sponsored by Al Bustan Rotana, Asiana, Chimes, Dusit Thani Dubai, Grand Hyatt, Noodle Bowl, Park Hyatt, Park Regis, The Kitchen of Thai and Thai Chi, Wafi.  

The "2nd Sawasdee Cup Golf Tournament 2014" was the second golf tournament  hosted by the Royal Thai Consulate-General, which is aiming to turn the positive feedback into an annual sporting event.
