On 6 January 2016, H.E. Mr. Thomas Stritzl, Member of the German Federal Parliament, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of his visit to Thailand.

During the discussion, the Foreign Minister informed Mr.Stritzl of Thailand’s constitution drafting and the national reform process for sustainable development. He then pointed out the Government’s serious effort in combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU), so that the Thai fishery industries would meet the international standards as well as pushing ahead of the educational reform. In this connection, the Foreign Minister reiterated Thailand’s desire to seek further cooperation with the German Federal Government in establishing another Thai-German Technical University. He also encouraged German private sector to invest in many projects in Thailand such as the development of the infrastructure and the Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

Mr. Stritzl has a very good impression and positive view on Thailand and is considered as a “Friend of Thailand”. In December last year, Mr. Stritzl joined the “Bike for Dad” activity to celebrate His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Birthday in Germany.
