On 16 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Henry Oryem Okello, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Uganda, on the sidelines of the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Republic of Uganda.
 
Both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Uganda, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and tourism, with the Ugandan side expressing its readiness to welcome Thai businesspersons and entrepreneurs to the country. The Ugandan side also thanked Thailand for its development cooperation, including short-term scholarships and training programmes, and welcomed the Thailand - Africa Initiative (TAI) by Thailand, which aims to deepen partnership between Thailand and Africa. They also exchanged views on cooperation to combat human trafficking.
 
The Thai side also commended Uganda’s leadership in Africa and its active role in advancing cooperation under the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), particularly during its tenure as Chair of the Movement.
