Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs attends the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC)

On 2 July 2026, Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC), together with high-level representatives from ADPC Member States and partner countries.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary, as a member of the ADPC Board of Trustees (BoT), which provides strategic guidance and oversight for the Centre together with representatives from other member countries, congratulated ADPC and commended the Centre’s achievements in advancing knowledge and capacity building in disaster risk reduction. He also welcomed the ADPC Strategic Action Plan 2026 - 2030 as an important framework for strengthening regional disaster preparedness and resilience while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Strategic Action Plan 2026 - 2030 sets out the Centre’s operational roadmap for 2026 - 2030 and aims to strengthen regional cooperation on disaster risk reduction, enhance resilience, as well as promote the application of science, technology, and innovation to address disaster risks and the impacts of climate change across the Asia-Pacific region. Thailand is a founding member of ADPC, which plays a key role in supporting countries across Asia and the Pacific in disaster risk reduction.
