On 16 August 2025, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata, participated in a prayer ceremony at Bodh Gaya to extend heartfelt blessings to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on the auspicious occasion of Her 93rd Birthday Anniversary on 12 August 2025, and
to His Majesty the King on the occasion of His 73rd Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2025.

On this occasion, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, represented the Thai community in paying homage and offering prayers and tributes in honor of Their Majesties. The ceremony, led by Phra Phromvajiravongs, Chief Abbot of Wat Thai Bodh Gaya, was held beneath the sacred Bodhi Tree in Bihar, India, revered as the site of the Buddha’s Enlightenment.

The ceremony not only reflected the deep loyalty and heartfelt tribute to their Majesties but also underscored the Consulate-General’s role in advancing Buddhist diplomacy. Such efforts strengthen the bonds between Thailand and India while preserving and promoting Buddhism at its sacred source for generations to come.
