On 31 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a bilateral meeting between H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, on the sidelines of the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.

 

The Chinese President conveyed his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother who played a significant role in promoting cordial relations between Thailand and China.

 

During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways to further strengthen Thai-Chinese relations, and agreed to use the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties to drive forward bilateral cooperation in such areas as green economy, science, technology, and digital, to promote regional peace and prosperity.

 

They also discussed about connectivity between the two countries, especially on expediting Thailand-China Railway Project, which is key to both countries’ economic development. In addition, they agreed to enhance cooperation to combat transnational crime, particularly online scam, which is Thailand’s national agenda. The Prime Minister also informed the Chinese President about the cancellation of the Entertainment Complex policy.

 

On regional and multilateral collaborations, both sides exchanged views on the Thai-Cambodian border situation, cooperation under the BRICS framework, and China’s Global Governance Initiative.
