Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with the Union Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar

On 14 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had discussions with H.E. U Tin Maung Swe, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the occasion of the latter’s official visit to Thailand during 13 - 14 July 2026.
Both sides reaffirmed the close relations between the two neighboring countries and expressed support for regular consultations at all levels. They will increase bilateral cooperation on key issues, such as border security; combating drug trafficking and online scams; promoting trade, investment and connectivity; and addressing transboundary haze and water pollution. They also exchanged views on the latest developments regarding ASEAN, where Myanmar expressed support for Thailand’s constructive role in helping to build bridges between Myanmar and ASEAN, and in supporting the peace process and national reconciliation in Myanmar.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister accompanied the Myanmar Foreign Minister to a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, at Government House.
